# de la Torre-Martinez Lab > Neuroscience research laboratory studying brain circuits for sensory and pain processing using mouse models, based at IDiBE — University Miguel Hernández in Elche, Spain. The de la Torre-Martinez Lab (dlTM Lab) investigates how the brain processes sensory information and pain signals. The lab uses advanced techniques including electrophysiology, optogenetics, calcium imaging, and computational neuroscience to understand the neuronal circuits underlying somatosensation and chronic pain conditions. Research focuses on identifying molecular and cellular mechanisms of neuroplasticity in persistent pain, as well as neuronal circuits for top-down pain modulation. ## Pages - [Home](/): Overview of the lab's research, latest publications, team members, methods, news, and funding. - [Research](/research): Detailed research areas including sensory processing, neural circuits, computational approaches, and funding sources. - [Publications](/publications): Complete list of peer-reviewed publications from the lab. - [Team](/team): Lab members, PI biography, and collaborator information. - [News](/news): Latest updates, announcements, and activities from the lab. - [Join Us](/join): Open positions for MSc, PhD, and Postdoc candidates. - [Resources](/resources): Scientific resources, tools, and datasets shared by the lab. - [Claustrum Research](/claustrum-research): Dedicated page on claustrum-related research projects.
